The Lost Chord

Hi i just want to share the words of this old poem/song written in 1846 by a lady called
Adelaide A. Procter, all i've found out so far is that she wrote this and a gentleman by the name of Arthur S. Sullivan wrote the music to it in 1876. If any of you could give me further information would you let me know please.

The Lost Chord

Seated one day at the organ, i was weary and ill at ease,
And my fingers wandered idly over the noisy keys;
I know not what i was playing, Or what i was dreaming then,
But i struck one chord of music,
Like the sound of a great Amen,
Like the sound of a great Amen.

It flooded the crimson twilight, Like the close of an angel's psalm,
And it lay on my fevered spirit, With a touch of infinite calm,
It quieted pain and sorrow, Like love overcoming strife,
It seemed the harmonious echo from our discordant life,
It linked all the perplexed meanings into one perfect peace,
And trembled away into silence, As if it were loth to cease;
I have sought but i seek it vainly, That one lost chord devine,
Which came from the soul of the organ, And entered into mine.

It may be that death's bright angel will speak in that chord again;
It may be that only in Heaven i shall hear that great Amen.
It may be that death's bright angel will speak in that chord again;
It may be that only in Heaven i shall hear that great Amen.

Another Year at the Calger Centre

Well brothers and sisters the week at the Calger Centre went well, Pastors Mark and Stan giving us the message on alternate nights; giving out tracks with the help of others from Bethel. And the organisation of refreshments which were graciously given by the sisters for after the services each night. The people of Derry recieved thousands of tracks during the week, (praise God) and the weather most days was great, i'm sure that we are all praying for souls to be saved through the messages that were given out.

God bless you all and keep you safe until the next appointed time....Amen!

Tell Me Who This Is and Which One

This should keep you thinking for a wee while, or are you as good as you think.

How Blessed We Are

If you have food in the refridgerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you attend a church meeting, without fear, harassment, arrest, torture or death, You are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug him or her or touch him or her on the shoulder, you are blessed because you can offer a healing touch.

If you can read this message, you just received a bouble blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Well Hello Folks, Top o The Mornin Ta Ye

Well would you Adam & Eve it!!!
